Many of you have heard about the story of Noy and Kham, the two brothers from Laos who went to the Philippines to study Theology.
Their journey started back in 2009 when our first Laos student (Tong Thor) wrote: “Ma’am Reva, my people are dying without knowing Jesus. Please help me go to Mountain View College to take Theology.” I had to find sponsorship for Tong. Then, three friends: Singkham Kham Phouliphan and his brother Saisavanh Noah (Noy) and Bounthan Lee also wrote asking if I could find them sponsors for their theology schooling in the Philippines. A group of “former” American student missionaries (The Penguins) sent support for them through Adopt a Minister International. Today, all 4 of them are still sharing Jesus to their people, for Jesus is soon to come. To God be the glory!
Update from Noy:
Noy was ordained as a pastor in 2019, and since then he has served in different ministries under the Laos Adventist Mission. He’s now married and has three sons.
Currently, he serves as the pastor of Dongkhamxang Church near his home. He is also involved in advising and assisting with the translation of books by Ellen G. White and health books in order to obtain government approval for printing and distribution in Laos.
“In Laos, the country is not freely open for direct gospel outreach in many areas. However, through friendship, education, health ministry, and community service, we are able to reach people and share God’s love in meaningful ways. These ministries have become bridges to connect with families and communities who may otherwise never hear the gospel”, Noy said.
In addition to pastoral ministry, Noy and his wife founded a tentmaker ministry through an English center that operates in the evenings from 5:00–7:00 PM. They currently have around 70 students from the nearby community attending classes. During the daytime, the same place is used as a kindergarten and primary school called PANYASAVANH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, with more than 100 students enrolled.

“This ministry has become one of the first schools we have operated completely by faith. I call it a “tentmaker ministry” because we started it in 2019 with only $400 and a strong trust in God’s leading. By His grace, more than 30 precious souls have been baptized into God’s kingdom through this ministry. Since then, two of our students are now serving as pastors in local churches, while several others are continuing their theology studies in the Philippines.
Currently, we are blessed to have 8 volunteer teachers from the Philippines helping us in our school and ministry. Their dedication, sacrifice, and missionary spirit have been a great blessing to our students, church, and community.
Update from Kham:
Kham is now married with one son. He is very active in his mission field; he equips new Bible workers and the church that he is in charge of just baptized 42 souls at end of May. He is leading out in 100 days of prayer with more than 500 people joining every week as they study Daniel and Revelation.

We have been receiving many e-mails from unemployed Theology graduates wanting to be part of Adopt a Minister International. However, due to not having enough of funds, we can’t help them at this time. But we continue to pray for every day miracles and that God will always bless our sponsors so we can share the “good news” to many more, through our adopted ministers and those who are waiting to be adopted will also have the same opportunity.
We remember in prayers those who are sick, downtrodden, the needy, victims of wars and natural disasters and those who don’t know the Lord yet. May God use us to be His “hands” and “feet”.
Matthew 24:6-8, 13-14
6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
