”I Am Still Behind You!” by Reva Lachica Moore
This morning, JR, Mary Grace and I went to Walmart to get groceries, and before we entered the second door, Grace passed by the sanitizer dispenser to get wipes to put on her grocery cart handle. I lazily followed her since I usually just sit at the Subway eatery while the two go inside with separate carts….WHEN…..
“Someone is behind you,” Grace told me, so I moved to the side so the person can go by.
“I’m still behind you, “ a man’s chuckling voice said from behind. I suddenly realized that I had moved only a foot away and was standing right in front of the wipes dispenser. And the man wanted to get sanitizer wipes also. When I turned around, I saw the kindest, smiling face of an elderly man.
I smiled and suddenly realized that is how our Jesus is. Every time we need Him, even if we think He may seem so distant, He is there saying, “I am still behind you.” Jesus knew that I have been praying about many things all morning and He answered me right then and there. Jesus is so faithful.
Hebrews 13:5. “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
